Another shot from the trip to Bjørnø.
This time I couldn't help but fooling a bit around - and I guess that is what this blog is all about, right? :)

Remember the levels!
When looking back at the photos posted the other night one photo clearly needed some improvement.
When shooting with the sun as your only lightsource you will some times have to choose between setting the exposure after your background or your model. In the photo below I wanted to keep the contrast in the sky without letting the skies burn out. This caused the model to be very dark. If you don't want to go with the siluet look you can bring light to your model by lowering the grey level. When using Photoshop go to Image -> Adjustments -> Levels. The pre-set is 0/1,00/255. Change the midarrow (grey) towards the left (black) to give your midtones more light. In the photo below I have changed the 1,00 to 1,63. I have used layermasks to bring back the skies so that they wont be affected by the level adjustments. Click on the image below to see before and after photos.
This is the final result after changing the levels.

Take to the Streets
I haven't got much time for playing arounbd with my camera due to the start of my little business. I've been working on jobs and updating our own homepage, twitter and mysapce. More about that later on. Sigurd invited me over last night to take some photos, but being kinda sleepy my heart wasn't quite in. I still managed shoot a few testshots in the streets of Odense.
I'll promiss to make some more time for playing around soon. Untill then here is two from last night.
